RVP Business Systems was originally started in the 1970's. In 2002 a former engineer from Hewlett Packard, Billy Knorpp, bought RVP Business Systems and DirectPOS. Billy Knorpp and his son Jason have made RVP and DirectPOS into successful businesses. They have accomplished this by having knowledgeable staff, providing high quality products, and building relationships with existing and new customers throughout the United States and parts of Canada.
In 2003 the Knorpp family decided they should provide all aspects of the Point of Sale technologies and formed Abacus Credit Card solutions. Now providing cash registers, point of sale computers, and credit card processing solutions; RVP had built itself into a leading Point of Sale provider in Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. In 2005 RVP opened an office in Salt Lake City Utah to provide more efficient services to the growing demand in the Utah market. In 2006 RVP Business Systems bought and merged with a local competitor Ada Cash Register. RVP currently has offices in Idaho and Utah as well Abacus sales agents in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Alaska. In October 2009 Teknor, Inc. consolidated RVP Business Systems, DirectPOS, and Ada Cash Register under one name, DirectPOS.
